Happy Halloween!

Third post for today but I could not wait to show you all my lovely girl. We had a blast! She went trick or treating and really got it this year! I love the way she said Trick or Treat this year and was impressed that she went to lots of doors alone (us right behind her of course) and said thank you! She is growing up WAY too fast! Hope you all had a fantastic Halloween!

This one is from earlier this week!

Are you a card maker? Do you like sketches?

Second post for today! Scroll down for creations!

Then I have the place for you! Sketches in Thyme run by the awesome Kim is having a design team call for card makers and layout makers alike! She needs more card makers though. Click HERE for all the details! I love this team!

Chocolate Survival Kit and beaded pens

I made this for my awesome friend Sandy for a swap we were in. I love how it turned out. The clear box came from Ms in the kids camp aisle this summer. I think I paid like .49 each. I got quite a few. I then just picked out patterned papers and decorated mini candy bars with paper and ribbon, decorated the top, bottom and insides. She said she loved it and it was a quick and easy thing to do. You could also do what a great friend of mine Rickie did for me a few years back and wrap mini nuggets in pictures of the kiddos. Although I never did eat those! LOL!

The beaded pens were super easy and I love how they turned out. I think I made like 10 of these in one sitting for various people. I used simple pentel RSVP pens that you can get at Staples or even the dollar tree, Martha Stewart clear glass microbeads, red sticky tape, a heat gun and lots of adhesive.

P.S. A reminder that I will be posting daily starting tomorrow with either a small page or a sentiment of what I am thankful for. I would love for you all to play along!!!

P.S.S. I will be hosting another Cricut Card Fairy Blog Hop this coming month so stay tuned for that and a chance to win a new cart!

Cruisin' Scrapbookpal.com Layout

Good morning! Are your ready for Halloween in TWO DAYS! WOW! How this year has flown by! Today I am here to share my second Scrapbookpal.com creation using the fun and fantastic Boys will be Boys cricut cartridge. Strange that I love this one although I only have a little girl as of now. However as I said before this cart is so for her right now. I used a sketch by Allison Davis (sketch week Feb 2009) as my layout basis. I love her sketches and they really help me get going when the mojo is little or none.

Anyways everything with the exception of the circles was cut using Boys will be Boys cricut cartridge. I also used a lot of glossy accents, signo white pen, Gelly Roll silver pen, and chesnut roan ink. I also used a half a sheet of generic foam squares! Lots of dimension on this layout!

I have seen the technique of the circles punched from pattern paper and then pop dotted for some dimension and I decided to try it. I really like how it adds the dimension and to really make it pop I outlined it with the Gelly Roll Silver pen.

Now let's talk cutting.
I used my Cricut Expression and 12X12 cutting mats.
Here is what I cut:
1. Title "Cruisin': ALL the layers at 1.25 inches on page 65
2. Brackets: Arrow Font at 1.25 inches on page 67 (both layers)
3. Stars: 1.5, 1.75, 2 and 2.25 inches page 44

  • Using your two base card stock papers, arrange and adhere your eight 5X5 squares of pattern paper as you like. Make sure to round all outer corners. I inked all the edges of mine in Chesnut Roan ink (I promise I love that stuff!)
  • Mat your pictures (mine are 4X4 and 3.5 by 3.5) on appropriate sized photo mats, outline with white pen. Adhere to page.
  • Using a one inch circle punch, punch out four circles from EACH patterned paper, outline in silver pen. Adhere to pattern paper with foam dots as you see fit.
  • Cut and adhere title and stars.
  • Detail your title with white pen, purple glitter pen, and glossy accents on brackets
  • Adhere stars together using foam dots and Zig two way pen, cover in glossy accents and allow to dry before placing on page
  • Journal date, information and more using Zig brown Millenium pen.
  • Ink as you see fit.
I really hope you like the layout and can now see how Boys will be boys can surely be used for a girl layout! I love this cart!

Waiting on Daddy

These pictures are from last year (Sept). This was the first day that Daddy was at his new job and Caitlyn patiently waited for him on the window seat. She was so excited when he came home. I love these pictures and how you can see the reflection of her in the window.I made my own border then filled in the holes with sticko shimmering silver dots! Love those things!

Our first home

Getting some of the pictures of our first home that we bought and the one that we brought Caitlyn home to scrapped. I LOVED this house and cried my eyes out when we left last year. Silly huh?

Iraq digs

Good morning. First let me put my disclaimer here. I have had these pictures since my tour was over in 2006 and I STILL have a mental block apparently on scrapping them. I WANT to scrap them but when I sit down with any of the pictures from then I literally get anxious and freeze up STILL! Silly I know. So I started (tried) with these photos. I do NOT like this page BUT they are done so that is what matters. I did figure out that I am still not ready to do these, but one day. Please tell me it is OK to NOT do them right now!

I have a few secrets I have been keeping but this is one of them! I LOVE LOVE LOVE what Leeanne at Artfuldelight is doing these days! She was kind enough to ask me to be a guest designer and sent me her SUPER ADORABLE stamp set Sunny Days to work with. I LOVE IT! Not only are they SUPER CUTE and just my style (well one of them!) they stamp BEAUTIFULLY! I am not a great stamper but I tried these out with all the various inks in my arsenal (uh I mean stash) and they stamped wonderful every single time! What a great product!!!! Seriously you all have to go and check her out! She has some great things planned so follow her along on this journey!

Aren't those cupcakes ADORABLE!? I only used the cupcakes not the flower or plate they were sitting on. I just love them! Play, Learn, Discover Wall Hangings

Good morning! I cannot BELIEVE it is the middle of October already!! WOW! I do not get as much crafting done this time of year but that is just fine with me since I love Fall and all that comes with it! But I did need to use the AWESOME BOYS WILL BE BOYS cart that the super generous Scrapbookpal.com sent me, so I want to share that with you today! Did you think it was totally a BOY cart, well I have some shocking news for you....IT IS NOT!!!!!

Our dining room also serves as our play room and our school. The walls are bare so I wanted to make something to jazz them up a bit! I wanted to go with a fun theme. I found these at Target for 1.24 each:
They measure about 5.75 by 5.75. I bought three and turned them into these!!!!

They will hang in my dining room/school/playroom. I used BOYS WILL BE BOYS exclusively on this project (well except for some online clip art!) How did I do it? Well let me tell you!!!

1. Using your paper trimmer and pattern paper, cover the base with 5.75 by 5.75 paper. The cut and ink the edges of a 5X5 piece of neutral card stock for your "canvas"
2. I cut the following:
  • PLAY at 2 inches on page 56 (phrase and phrase layer)
  • DISCOVER at 1.5 inches on page 68 (phrase and phrase layer)
  • the letters to spell LEARN at 1.5 inches to include the shadow and base pieces
  • TOOLS at 2 inches on page 50 (all layers)
  • BUG IN JAR at 3 inches on page 42 (all layers)
  • TRICYCLE at 2 inches on page 38 (all layers)
3. The road is hand tore on a Fiskars tear ruler and I used my SIGNO white gel pen for the lines. The Tree was made using my one inch EK SUCCESS circle punch, inked and pop dotted on a hand drawn tree trunk.
4. The magnifying glass and "Take a look" came from online clip art, inked and added transparency to give it a more authentic look.
5. Everything was colored with my Bic mark its; outlined in Stardust gelly roll glitter pens or Signo Uniball white gel pen.
6. Several letters in the titles have Martha Stewart Clear microbeads as an accent.
7. Cut and assemble all pieces for each individual canvas. Ink with chesnut roan ink.
8. Adhere with Scotch ATG Gold Tape, Zig glue pen, Glue dots or foam pieces.
9. Arrange all elements as you wish and TA DA you have new artwork for your room!

Caitlyn loves that I made the tools have googly eyes as they look similar to Handy Manny tools. The tricycle looks very close the one that she just learned to pedal and she loves the polka dotted lady buy in the jar! There are more detailed shots on my blog HERE so hop on over and leave me some love!

I hope you enjoyed my project! Make sure to check out SCRAPBOOKPAL.COM for some amazing deals and SUPER fast and great shipping (seriously!).

All paper is DCWV Farmers market

Our fun filled weekend!

WOW! We had a FANTASTIC 3.5 day weekend. I took over 400 photos this weekend alone! YIKES! Now granted about 1/2 or more of those are horrible, or C is not looking! I seriously have to snap ten pictures of her to get a good one THANK GOODNESS for DIGITAL! Here are some highlights and why I have nothing crafty to show you this weekend!

These are from Saturday. We went to a one day Harvest festival at a local park/farm with friends. It was not all laughs and happiness as you see but mostly it was SO MUCH FUN!
