Slice of Happiness

This layout for some reason took me a great deal of time and is so simple. I am not sure what the issue was. I used LOTS of ribbon, some thickers, and paper from the DCWV sweet stack. The pictures are from my birthday, it is the GORGEOUS cake that Jonathan made me. The bow is chocolate plastic and was yummy but the roses were his first and just divine! Caitlyn brought me a slice and gave me a kiss. It talks about all my blessings on that day and everyday. Thanks for looking.

7 Days of Valentines!

I hosted and partcipated (twice) in this swap. We had seven days of Valentines. Day ones word was CANDY/SWEET! Boy did I need these now after the HUGE snow storm and another one predicted for tomorrow.

Melissa send me a KING SIZE KIT KAT bar that SLIDES!!! I love it and I know she sent me that as I call Caitlyn Kit Kat sometimes AND she has a cat named KitKat LOL!
She also sent Caitlyn a cute little duck with hearts all over it that Caitlyn has NOT put down yet!

Sandy sent me a yummy bag of Dove Milk Chocolate Promises! YUMMY! My favorite!!!!

31 inches and still coming!

HOLY CRUD!!!!! Need I saw anymore? It is still coming down!!!!!

Blizzard 2010-Feb

This out our front door a few hours ago. Can you see the black thing by the tree? That is our mailbox.
Jon took this one at like 615 or so this morning! see that small black dot on the front of my car? That is my windshield wiper standing STRAIGHT UP off my windshield!!!!! And yes that is my car there!
Here is the backyard with the swing set, slide and more can you see it?
This is of the shed, the snow is halfway it! Do you see the TOP!?!? AND IT IS STILL COMING!

Well it looks like the weather man finally got it right! We have over 2.5 feet of snow I would say, not sure, can barely get out of the door. You can only see the tippy top of the mailbox and hardly anything of the backyard slide! WOW! We are going to be home bound for quite a while!

Puppy Love and a Toilet Paper Caper

Two more that I have finished lately. The first one is about the doggy that she is holding, it was my brothers, who then gave it to me when I went to college and now it is hers. She loves that thing! I had a WHOLE different idea on this one but this is what happened and I am pretty pleased with it.

Toilet Paper Caper was a fun one for me. She did all that and FILLED the toilet while I took out the trash, I thought it was while I was in the shower but I looked it up on my private blog, hence why the journaling is crossed out. Pretty simple but I like it.

Scrap Sketch 5

I just LOVE Stephanie's sketches! I turned this one into a two page layout and had more pictures than the sketch called for but it is based on her wonderful sketch. You cant really tell in the photo but I did some "faux stitching/doodling" for the dashes. I had Caitlyn "shaw shaw" (draw) on the aprons which were cut out with the Cricut using From my Kitchen, and then used them as embellishments. I love it, works well with the pictures and gets her scribbles at this age in there too! I also made my own flowers, and scalloped borders using circle punches! YAY me! LOL!

Layout for FB

I flipped the sketch and used it loosely. I love how this one turned out, lots of inking, distressing, and I used THREE Tim Holtz embellies. I even got Jonathan to journal and they are tucked away with mine. I used white everything for embellishments and thickers and just inked them to match what I wanted. What do you think? I love this picture!

Do you love Ben Franklin?

FERN DOES and she wants to SHARE with you!!! Hop on over and check it out!! WOW!

FERNS BLOG CANDY!!

Card for hubby-honest thoughts please

I was blog browsing today and the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger made me think of this card, VERY nontraditional Valentine colors but they are Jons favorites. Everything is embossed using the cuttlebug various folders. What do you think? I also decorated the inside with the papers you see but wrote my message before I took a picture!

I also noticed that this fits in the Valentine Challenge for Frosted Designs, there is no pink or red anywhere! YAY!

Practical Scrappers FRIDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE

Over at Practical Scrappers we were given the amazing sketch by Lucy. I love the simplicity of it. This is my take. I use SWEETHEARTS cricut cart for the bow in the middle and the font is either Calligraphy or Lyrical Letters I think. LOL! I used my swiss dots cuttlebug folder on just about everything. I also used the EK success heart/swirl border punch for the two sides. Labels one nestabilities were used for the journaling. Everything is stickled and very shiny in real life but we have not seen the sun in days here sorry! These pictures are of Caitlyn giving us her first fashion show. Mawmaw bought her several dresses for Easter this past year and I thought she looked so grown up here! What personality, my little princess! What do you think?

Thanks Kim for letting me know about Frosted Designs challenge or EMBOSSING! There is LOTS on here!

Practical Scrappers PATTERN PAPER challenge

Good morning friends! Do you have Patterned paper coming out of every crevice in your space? Do you love it but are worried on "matching it" or GASP using it up for fear of not having it anymore? Then come and see PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS challenge this week. We were challenged as the design team to use TWO patterned papers but you only need to use ONE, now how simple is that? There are TONS of talent and ideas, we just added new design team members to come and check them out! So get to creating, link up on PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS Mr. Linky for a chance at a fab prize and some blog love! I cant wait to see what you come up with!!!!

For this challenge I was inspired by a video posted on youtube that made its way around the cricut.com site. My mini album is simply bill fold envelopes, cut in half, sealed and decorated as I saw fit. I kept this one pretty simple, since it is a gift and I want her to add what she wants to it and make it her own. You could bind it up, tie it with ribbon or do what I did and use book rings. Each section holds tags at about 4.5 by 3.5 or so. So come on use what you have and show me what you can do!
