CKCB DT Blog Hop!

Happy November! If you are in the US I hope you voted! Today I am here to share what I counterfeited for this month. Our challenge was to counterfeit a collection we loved from Winter CHA releases. Well we all know I LOVE fall and scrap a LOT of photos in that color so I choose to go with Lily Bee Designs Autumn Spice. I LOVED the journal cards the most so I made a few of those. When you are done here please hop along to the wonderful JEMMA.

The tiny pad that I loved so much I almost bought!

Purged my paper OH MY!

So yesterday the agenda said to sort/organize/label/purge the toy/play room; well I did not have the correct containers to do that so I decided to purge my paper instead. This is what I am packing up and selling! GOOD GRIEF! And the bad thing is I still have tons left ::blushes::!

Challenge TWO: Photo love

I must admit this one had me stumped for a few minutes. I love props but have a hard time getting decent pictures of my layouts. BUT since this layout was about us painting our pumpkins last year, I figured it would be gorgeous next to all my fall decor on the porch. It fits right in don't you think?

Challenge ONE: Quilt (CKCB)

Good morning! Today is the DT's reveal for challenge one at Counterfeit Kit Blog. Our challenge was to take QUILTS and let them inspire us. So I did blocks to represent the blocks on a quilt. How did you get inspired?

WOOHOO! It is counterfeit kit time!

YAY! It is OCTOBER!!!! I love all the 'ber' months, but I have to admit OCTOBER is my favorite. We do so much this month-pumpkin patches, hay rides, trunk or treat, petting farms, trick or treating, festivals and so much more! So of course I HAD to make my kit FALL themed by copying the TYPE of pattern paper instead of my usual way of copying the colors/feel. I am really excited about this kit since it is mostly new to me product that I shopped for while on my hiatus. So without further ado here is FALL FEVER! When you get done oohing and aahing please hop on to the fabulous JEMMA!
Most of the papers are from Bella Blvd THANKFUL collection with a sprinkling of Echo Park. Lots of labels from October afternoon, MME, and Jillibean soup; some washi tape and bling finish off the embellishments. My letters are white foam thickers and corrugated pebble letters. I didn't add cardstock since I mostly use kraft, white, cream. I am sure I will pull more embellishments/scraps as I go through this kit this month.

$1.23 Fall wreath

So I wanted something to go on our door but everything I had was made of metal and with the wind these days it was rattling and loud. So I rummaged in my stash and came up with this. I used a dollar tree foam wreath cut in half, cheesecloth that we had on hand, glimmer mist/ink to change the color (from my scrapping stash), Tim Holtz Tattered floral die and some felt that I bought. I love it and it is NOT noisy! I wish it was a bit bigger but I had just enough cheesecloth so it is what it is.

CKCB Challenge 3-Negative space

Good morning. Today I am here to share the last challenge for CKCB for September. Can you believe it is almost OCTOBER!?! WOOHOO! I love fall! I am one happy girl right now.

Challenge three was all about using negative space. Well I have been eying and wanting to try a negative tag/banner title treatment so this was the perfect challenge to try it out! I cut the title banners with my Silhouette Cameo (still love that thing!) I can't wait to see what you come up with in the linky!

The layout that took me five days to finish!

I am sure it was longer but we will go with five days. Man it takes forever to do a layout when you are doing five minutes here and there BUT I love this one and had to share! The title not only used up tons of my black thickers/letter stickers (I tend to not use black for some reason) but was inspired by a country song I love. I was so excited when I flipped through the pictures from the first few weeks of baby N's life and found this one that my awesome husband took. It was perfect!

Challenge one CKCB

So challenge one was to use something from your stash that you used to love but don't so much anymore. Well that would be several things in mine but it is almost purge time so I went with some SMASH tabs that I HAD to have but have just been sitting there. I cut them up and used them as a border and to house my journaling! YAY that I got a challenge done!! WOOHOOO!

Sept Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Hi all! I am SLOWLY getting back into the swing of things. I may not get any challenges done this month but I did get the kit pulled together! So YAY for small successes!

This month our kit came from Birds of a Feather August Kit AND as an added twist we were to counterfeit three new releases from CHA. So here is what I came up with. My kit this month is called Twinkle Twinkle Little Boy.  Once you are done here please hop on to JEMMA.

Here is a closeup of the items I decided to counterfeit from CHA: Jillibean Soup hexies, Maya Road patterned stars and several different washi tapes.

Blog break

Good morning! As we are about 2.5 weeks (or less) out from having baby boy I wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a blog break until at least mid August. I sure hope you understand. I will try to get back on and post a pic (or two!) of baby boy once he graces us with his presence! See you all soon!

Let's get MOVING!

Good morning! Here today to share the last of our three challenges using the kits we put together this month at CKCB. The challenge this time was "Let's get moving!" Something had to move on your layout. I made a spinner to demonstrate the love/hate friendship/relationship that DD has with her BFF. DD loved that it moved! What did you make move on your layout?

Here are the next few layouts from this months make your own CKCB kit. I am pretty proud of the number of layouts I accomplished this month but I am ready to break this kit up and put it back into my stash. A girl can only do so many pastelish layouts LOL! The last two layouts are for the challenges coming up this month! How many layouts/creations did you accomplish from you kit? I can't wait to see.

I will be taking a break from CKCB for July and August as little man is due to appear July 23 and I know I will be busy doing all the little final things to get ready and then enjoying him when he gets here. I will still try to get around and leave some love though! Have a good couple of months!

CKCB: Challenge two: Let's get messy!

Welcome back! Today I am sharing challenge TWO for CKCB: Let's get messy (aka PAINT!). For this one I hand painted the sun, stamped some clouds, painted a swatch of yellow on the white cardstock AND changed my white thickers to a light pink! I was covered in paint after this on but it was fun!

Good morning just wanted to share the first five layouts I have gotten done with this month's kit. I am up to 13 I think so more to come soon. One of my favorite starting points that makes layouts go faster is to use the 6X6 pattern paper in a quadrant. I love that is uses things up, I get multiple patterns without overwhelming the photo(s). What is one of your favorite starting points?

Happy Father's Day!

Good morning! Happy Father's day to all the daddies and step in daddies out there! Today I wanted to share the two cards I whipped up for Fathers day for my Daddy and hubby's Father. I hope they enjoyed them!

CKCB: challenge ONE Travel

Oops! This is late! I must admit that my blog is taking a backseat to getting everything ready for little mans arrival in less than six weeks! Please accept my apologies!

Today I am here to share the layout I did using the kit I put together for this month's challenge at CKCB! The challenge was to use TRAVEL as your inspiration. So I tackled a few photos of DH's trip to Australia (yes still jealous!). Enjoy!

Birthday gift

Seems like May/June are going to be busy birthday making months for C's friends. Here are two little altered notebooks I made for her friend that just turned 6, loves pink and keeps stealing her Moms paper. I used DCWV Spring Fling and Summer Days stack. Now to just get them to her.

09 June 2012

Name frames

In my circle these are a a huge hit, everyone wants one. I usually place them into 12X12 frames from Michaels but mine has been out for weeks. These two caused me TONS of issues and I am not even sure why. Thanks to Jamie for helping me get it together. I sure hope it was not because they are boy themed LOL! The names are dry embossed and inked for more texture. Everything was cut using the Cameo (still loving that thing). The Mom loved them so that is all that matters.

Bookmarks for a friend

I belong to a Crafty Chicas Celebration (scrappy birthday club) and this past month May we spoiled another lady. She loves to read and has lots of books going at once so I decided to make her three of these. The corner one is the first I have done of that kind. All of them are made with grungepaper as I thought they would last a bit longer.

Mix it up, make it your own-CKCB June Kit

Happy June! I am very excited to showcase the kit for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog this month! We are truly doing something different. You should have reached me from the awesome Guest Designer this month: Allison.  I eluded to it in a previous post here but if you did not catch that no worries. We are mixing it up and making our OWN kits with the following items in them. No copying another kit (unless you want to); this time the challenge is to make your OWN kit. Here is what we were to include:
10 sheets patterned paper
8 sheets card stock
2 alphabets
2 stamp sets
4 journaling spots
3 TYPES of "misc" embellishments
1 roll washi tape
1 OLD item/embellishment
1 Messy item
1 surprise item of your choice!

So without further ado let's dissect my kit this month, what do you say? I am calling it "Sweet and Sassy"  I have a good deal of spring/Easter pictures to finish up before I move on so that is where my inspiration came from. Below is the ENTIRE kit with all my add ons.
Here is the main meat and taters part of the kit. This includes all of the listed above and one more alphabet set (I have white thickers, Kraft corrugated letters and tiny type Kraft letters). My OLD item is the paper crimper (how long has yours been collecting dust?!?!!). My 3 types of misc embellishments are the twine, buttons, and bling with the three butterflies thrown in for the surprise item or I guess they could be the OLD item too. I do have two messy items paint (hint! hint!) and white embossing powder since I am all about stamping on my creations these days. I did not include my journaling spots in this one but picked out three label pads (Martha Stewart) to use. You will see why in a few seconds. So there you have the MAIN kit part of "Sweet and Sassy".

closeup of the pattern papers, I choose Kraft, cream and white card stock of course

Now here we are to the first add on, the stamping one. I pulled lots of Unity stamps with a weather/spring/whimsical theme. Then we have a border set, an outline alphabet set, and a little girl set. I think I should be covered, but reserve the right to add more from my stash if needed :).

Here we have the second add on: 6X6 paper pads. I have been buying and gifted these a great deal lately and really want to use them instead of them collecting dust on my Expedit. So I pulled out a few with similar color themes, plus they rock when I am doing Project Life.

Last but not least, the final or third add one, my JOURNALING add on. Yep that is MORE stamps, pattern paper and labels. I also included some MME and Lily Bee Design spots to round it all out. I have three pattern papers here all grid/ledger/lined for easy journal spots/boxes etc bases.  Four more stamp sets, my "journal spots" from the main kit (Lily Bee Index cards), several MME pre made spots/labels and there you have it. Yes I know it is massive but I have noticed I am slacking in my journaling and want to step it up.

So are you up for this awesome challenge inspired by Shimelle Laine at 2peasinabucket.com? Can you do it? I am always interested in the process of others kitting (is that a word?) so leave me a comment with the steps you use to pull your kit together! Can't wait to see what you make! Make sure to continue the DT hop with GLINDA!

Challenge: Inspired by Shimelle kit-PIC HEAVY

On Twopeasinabucket.com around National Scrapbook Day Shimelle posted a video about a kit she made from her stash and how many pages she did with it. A fellow member decided to run with it and I accepted the challenge. I pulled my kit with the items requested, and was able to get SIXTEEN regular scrapbook layouts and a 2 page Project Life spread so that is a total of EIGHTEEN layouts. WHEW! It was so much fun and a good challenge. Below you will find the kit, the layouts and my leftovers. I would definitely do it again, but not anytime soon or with those patterns LOL!
