Practical Scrappers STICHING Challenge

Do you have lots of supplies you promised you were going to use and then did not? Do you feel overwhelmed with all the choices in your scrap space? Do you want to use your supplies but are at a loss of how? Then come on over to PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS and we will help you use what you have!

This week the challenge was to use STITCHING somewhere on your layout/project. Well since I cannot sew a button on to save my life I used STAMPS! WOOHOO! Can you tell all where I used them? Yep that is right, I used them to border the four pictures, and as the flight patterns on the butterflies. How would you use stitching? There are tons of ideas over at PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS hope to see you there!

5 things I am thankful for today

I am so blessed. I am so thankful for everything big and small. Here are my top five. Won't you play along?

1. Family and Friends- in real life and virtual, everyone plays a special place and I am so blessed to have my hubby and daughter with me this season.

2. Employment-this time last year we were unemployed (Dh had just gotten out of the military) so having the security and safety of a job is a huge stress reliever, blessing and sigh of relief.

3. A safe, warm house with clothes on our backs and food in our bellies. We often take this for granted but it means so much, it is the foundation of our lives.

4. All the service personnel that are or have served in the armed forces or as contractors in the many wars/ and conflicts our country is in, without them we would not be free to express, live and create as we wish.

5. Scrapbooking/Crafts, it helps me de stress and relax in our hectic lives.

Gratitude

Here are two quick and simple gratitude cards that I whipped up during naptime today. One was for the real life blessing that my landlords wife did for us yesterday. After we woke up from naptime (yes I nap when she does!) we were blessed to find a HUGE box of toys, games and books from them to us for little miss! I was teary all day long! It warms my heart to know that real life kindness still exists. The other was for another neighbor, that was long overdue.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!

On this solemn day of remembrance and celebration, please do not forget to thank a SOLDIER, AIRMAN, SAILOR, COAST GUARDIAN, MARINE and Vet! Without them and their sacrificing families we would not be allowed to do most things that we take for granted daily. Say a prayer for the fallen and those serving now, then and in the future. GOD BLESS AMERICA! If you cant Stand behind our troops PLEASE feel free to stand IN FRONT of them!

Hiatus

I know I know! I have not posted much yet. It is NOT because I am not creating, I am! I promise! I am working on a 12 days of Christmas swap with a good friend of mine and another one that I want to try to get more done on. Therefore I cannot post what I am making. I am also creating things for various design teams, but they also cannot be posted! Coming soon I promise!!!!!

My first Practical Scrappers Challenge Design!

This week at Practical Scrappers the challenge was to use at least three ribbons in the layout, I do dare say I did that and MORE! I love the entire border of ribbons adhered with of course staples on the right side. There are three patterns there. I then made the orange polka dotted ribbon by taking plain white grosgrain ribbon and "stamping" erasers into orange ink and then randomly onto the ribbon it self. I used two tags from Staples, inked up for my title and journaling. The title is Doodlebug stickers outline in brown ink. I used Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper (the orange mat) and My Minds Eye for the polka dot paper all put on Kraft card stock background. Enjoy!
