I will be taking a break from CKCB for July and August as little man is due to appear July 23 and I know I will be busy doing all the little final things to get ready and then enjoying him when he gets here. I will still try to get around and leave some love though! Have a good couple of months!

CKCB: Challenge two: Let's get messy!
Welcome back! Today I am sharing challenge TWO for CKCB: Let's get messy (aka PAINT!). For this one I hand painted the sun, stamped some clouds, painted a swatch of yellow on the white cardstock AND changed my white thickers to a light pink! I was covered in paint after this on but it was fun!

CKCB: challenge ONE Travel
Oops! This is late! I must admit that my blog is taking a backseat to getting everything ready for little mans arrival in less than six weeks! Please accept my apologies!
Today I am here to share the layout I did using the kit I put together for this month's challenge at CKCB! The challenge was to use TRAVEL as your inspiration. So I tackled a few photos of DH's trip to Australia (yes still jealous!). Enjoy!

Birthday gift
Seems like May/June are going to be busy birthday making months for C's friends. Here are two little altered notebooks I made for her friend that just turned 6, loves pink and keeps stealing her Moms paper. I used DCWV Spring Fling and Summer Days stack. Now to just get them to her.

Name frames
In my circle these are a a huge hit, everyone wants one. I usually place them into 12X12 frames from Michaels but mine has been out for weeks. These two caused me TONS of issues and I am not even sure why. Thanks to Jamie for helping me get it together. I sure hope it was not because they are boy themed LOL! The names are dry embossed and inked for more texture. Everything was cut using the Cameo (still loving that thing). The Mom loved them so that is all that matters.

Bookmarks for a friend
I belong to a Crafty Chicas Celebration (scrappy birthday club) and this past month May we spoiled another lady. She loves to read and has lots of books going at once so I decided to make her three of these. The corner one is the first I have done of that kind. All of them are made with grungepaper as I thought they would last a bit longer.

Mix it up, make it your own-CKCB June Kit
Happy June! I am very excited to showcase the kit for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog this month! We are truly doing something different. You should have reached me from the awesome Guest Designer this month: Allison. I eluded to it in a previous post here but if you did not catch that no worries. We are mixing it up and making our OWN kits with the following items in them. No copying another kit (unless you want to); this time the challenge is to make your OWN kit. Here is what we were to include:
10 sheets patterned paper
8 sheets card stock
2 alphabets
2 stamp
sets
4 journaling spots
3 TYPES of "misc" embellishments
1 roll washi tape
1 OLD item/embellishment
1 Messy item
1 surprise item of your choice!
So without further ado let's dissect my kit this month, what do you say? I am calling it "Sweet and Sassy" I have a good deal of spring/Easter pictures to finish up before I move on so that is where my inspiration came from. Below is the ENTIRE kit with all my add ons.
Here is the main meat and taters part of the kit. This includes all of the listed above and one more alphabet set (I have white thickers, Kraft corrugated letters and tiny type Kraft letters). My OLD item is the paper crimper (how long has yours been collecting dust?!?!!). My 3 types of misc embellishments are the twine, buttons, and bling with the three butterflies thrown in for the surprise item or I guess they could be the OLD item too. I do have two messy items paint (hint! hint!) and white embossing powder since I am all about stamping on my creations these days. I did not include my journaling spots in this one but picked out three label pads (Martha Stewart) to use. You will see why in a few seconds. So there you have the MAIN kit part of "Sweet and Sassy".

Now here we are to the first add on, the stamping one. I pulled lots of Unity stamps with a weather/spring/whimsical theme. Then we have a border set, an outline alphabet set, and a little girl set. I think I should be covered, but reserve the right to add more from my stash if needed :).
Here we have the second add on: 6X6 paper pads. I have been buying and gifted these a great deal lately and really want to use them instead of them collecting dust on my Expedit. So I pulled out a few with similar color themes, plus they rock when I am doing Project Life.
Last but not least, the final or third add one, my JOURNALING add on. Yep that is MORE stamps, pattern paper and labels. I also included some MME and Lily Bee Design spots to round it all out. I have three pattern papers here all grid/ledger/lined for easy journal spots/boxes etc bases. Four more stamp sets, my "journal spots" from the main kit (Lily Bee Index cards), several MME pre made spots/labels and there you have it. Yes I know it is massive but I have noticed I am slacking in my journaling and want to step it up.
So are you up for this awesome challenge inspired by Shimelle Laine at 2peasinabucket.com? Can you do it? I am always interested in the process of others kitting (is that a word?) so leave me a comment with the steps you use to pull your kit together! Can't wait to see what you make! Make sure to continue the DT hop with GLINDA!

Challenge: Inspired by Shimelle kit-PIC HEAVY
On Twopeasinabucket.com around National Scrapbook Day Shimelle posted a
video about a kit she made from her stash and how many pages she did
with it. A fellow member decided to run with it and I accepted the
challenge. I pulled my kit with the items requested, and was able to get SIXTEEN regular scrapbook layouts and a 2 page Project Life spread so
that is a total of EIGHTEEN layouts. WHEW! It was so much fun and a good
challenge. Below you will find the kit, the layouts and my leftovers. I
would definitely do it again, but not anytime soon or with those
patterns LOL!

Surf Sand and Smile
This was for a scrapbook.com sketch challenge. I used my lovely new Echo Park Hello Summer collection and my Cameo. This was so fun. I am also challenging myself to use BOLD A side pattern papers. I was finding that I was almost exclusively using small repetitive pattern papers (think polkadots, strips, etc) which is fine and is my go to but sometimes you need to step out. I love this layout and I think I will be framing it when it comes time to redo my framed layouts.

In his arms
This layout was for a NSD Twopeas challenge (Continue the morph). I also wanted to use all the pretty washi tape I have been discovering/buying in the past six months. I gravitate to basic/classic patterns and hope to get lots of use out of them. This background is VERY different from my normal but I rather like it. It is nice to stretch out every once in a while.
