Just a quick post to share a layout I did a few days ago using the Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas collection that the wonderful Sandy at SoCal Scrapbooks sent me to work with. As you all know my personal scrapping has been beaten up by the baby sickness but that is OK, it will be worth it. I usually don't use this many "busy" patterns but I think it looks fun. I would love to see anything you have made using this collection!

Project Life WEEK THREE

This week (Jan15 to Jan22) was filled with doctors appointments, Tot Rock blizzard fun, staying home (mommy was sick), and ice/snow filled weekend. We got to see Baby Butler and all is well with the genetic testing thus far YAY! C got to use her Target gift card from her b day for a talking Dora Backpack (help me LOL!). This was her reward for adjusting her behavior in the bath, it is no longer WWIII! C drew a picture of me and put the baby in my tummy! I LOVE THIS! The internet blackout happened, Daddy made cupcakes and C sniped one, lots of fun in the snow/ice; and more. I did not do as well with pictures but I knew I had lots of memorabilia to add, some was not day specific so I filed it back for fillers later on in the year. What about you? how are you doing on PL so far?

Very quick share today. This is the first page of the 2012 project life album since I did a traditional 12X12 page for the title page, I had extra space. This is ALL based in the PL kit. I added some puffy thickers, a few little blings, and small letters.

Project Life-Week TWO

So here is week TWO for me. I took these pictures the same time as week one, so any tips would be very helpful.

This week we had our first snow that stuck (for less than 12 hours btw which really upset C!), C asked for big girl cereal for once, my living room is filled with toys (which I am sure I will miss one day), and we had lots of tea parties and a double baby shower. I have MORE pictures for each week so far so that is good, right?

Bling with a twist

Bling. You love it, you hoard it but have you really tried to use it differently on your projects? Well that is the challenge today at CKCB! I can't wait to see what you do with it! Today I decided to make a little notebook for a friend. It is very "blingy" but most of the uses are my everyday uses, except for the SEQUINS! Yep that is right, SEQUINS!

I stole the sequins from Caitlyn's stash (ssshhh don't tell her). I had to punch bigger holes in them to save my sanity. Then I simply strung them in a pattern along some twine (added to my kit). Mini glue dots help to ensure they do not move all over the place. What do you think? If you have used sequins before let me know how since we have a TON of these now LOL!
Now for the back I wanted a little something different, she will be using this for list making so I wanted to include a pen. This is my try at that. I let Caitlyn swing this thing around for a little bit and it did not fall off so hopefully it will stay put for a while. All I did was punch two holes in the center, threaded some ribbon and tied TIGHTLY three times! I hope she likes it and can use it!

Project Life-Week ONE

Yes so I am SO going to have to work on taking pictures of these things. Any tips? YIKES! Here is my first week, its a 2 page spread with the right side being a 6X12 and three 4X6 slots, an 8.5X11 page protector in the middle and a six 4X6 vertical sheet on the left. I have decided to just use what I have on hand for page protectors as I was hearing/reading horrible things about the PL ones AND I did not want to get behind. I know me if I get too behind I will just chuck the whole project. So here is week one. I used mostly patterned paper from the turquoise kit I bought, and a few odds and end scraps from the scrap drawer. I am going SIMPLE on this one. What do you think?

Another small redo in the C.C

Creative cavern, yep that is what the sign says LOL! I redid the decorations on the top of my black/brown Expedit and finally added four layouts (that had not gotten in an album yet) to my display. Again thanks to my wonderful hubby since I am vertically challenged! I hope to rotate things out on the top of the shelf but we will see how I keep up with that! You will notice that my colors are of course blue/brown and accented with white, Gerber daisies and glass. So far this is the only place I can keep glass items away from C's hands! There are various things people have made me that fit the colors, a few things I altered, and the best thing is the light up SHMILY (see how much I love you) sign that hubby made me for Valentines day a few years back. It's a game we play and pretty important to our marriage. I love it. Better than flowers any day!

New additions to my creative cavern

I have had these dollar store/hobby lobby white paper lanterns in my decorating stash since before we moved from the old house. I knew I wanted to hang them somewhere in the house but after doing most of the decorating they just did not fit the theme anymore. :( SO what is a girl to do with SIX paper lanterns? Well alter them of course! I used tons of spray ink, chalk ink and more from my CKCB kit (and a few extras) and was very random about it (very hard for me!). I love how they came out though. Five adorn my corner above my homemade clip it up and one graces me from under my homemade Create Memories sign that one of my Soldiers made for me before I left the Army. I think they look fabulous and really fill that empty awkward space in the corner. What do you think?

Goals, Resoultions, Challenges-Counterfeit Style

Good Monday morning. I hope you are warm and safe where you are. Anyone have any snow yet? Not here just yet to the utter dismay of my little one.

Today I am here to share the FIRST challenge with COUNTERFEIT KIT for the new year. And how else would we start this NEW year off then with projects about goals, resolutions and challenges then with a challenge all about them? Well how else would you? LOL!

The challenge, if you should accept it, make a layout/project sharing your goals, resolutions, challenges, or even a list of things you want to do this year. It can be ONE thing or a million it is up to you. With a picture or without, again all up to you. Please link it up over at CKCB so I can leave you some love if you chose to accept this first challenge!

Here is my take. This page is VERY out of my norm for me when I scrap for me. Now I do create/scrap for others in this style often but NOT for myself personally. I wanted to make my own background paper and dug out a little 6X6 Crafters Workshop template to use with the mists in my original kit. I did add the white thickers, as I totally forgot to add letters to my counterfeit kit this month (pregnancy brain!). What do you think? My goals were simple: Enjoy, Relax and let go of yesterday, live for today, and dream for tomorrow (pretty appropriate with the Cocoa Daisy stamp huh? ) What are your goals/challenges/lists or resolutions? Did you write them down? Will you scrap them? Will you display them? I can't wait to see what you are working on this year. Until next time.....

Baby Shower times two

I recently co-hosted a double baby shower for two of the to be mommies in my MOMS group. It was chaotic, loud but fun. Here are a few of the things I made. I forgot to get pictures of the "pin the diaper on the baby" game we set up for the kids. But it was just a fit to page cut of a New Arrival (cricut) crawling baby and diapers to match. Of course I prettied up the baby a bit but nothing huge. For part of each Moms gift I made a 12X12 name frame. One Mom had not decided on her new baby's name so I made the big sisters name and will make a matching one for baby when they decide. The other is for the new baby. I hope they liked them.

The other small thing I made were "Mom to be" pins, just because. I bought the decorations and it was pot luck style so that was nice. I hope they had fun, their trunks were full! YAY!

Yep. As usual I am a bit late on the uptake of "trends". I made these quickly tonight for someone (who is probably reading this!). I sure hope he/she likes them. They are made from coffee filters, white embossing powder, background stamps and lots of ink/bling. Some of them I am happier with than others. He/She will only be getting SOME of these so at least there is still THAT surprise. I hope they like them, for my first attempt at flowers what do you think?
Please excuse the stained mat and off colors, they are NOT as dark in real life, but I quickly snapped this in the Creative Cavern aka our basement LOL!

My Project Life setup/space

Here is what I came up with. Now remember I am carrying a small coupon organizer in my purse to stuff all the random bits and pieces of our life, and each week will dump it out and recycle what does not make it into the album. This is a little corner next to my laptop.

In the Iris container you will find all the stamps, letters, extra scraps/journal cards I want to incorporate this year.

In the wooden box (that my wonderful hubby made me!) is HALF of the Turquoise and HALF of the Clementine kit, along with a white pen, journaling pen, regular ink pen, post it notes and two date stamps (one smash and one regular). This also holds a good assortment of the title cards, filler cards, stickers, and bi fold cards. It is a good mish mash. When I start to run low, I can restock from the rest of the items I have stored in the original box.

The pink/orange expandable file is for that artwork/creations and bits/baubles that don't fit in the coupon organizer. So far so good, except I need some page protectors. I have my pictures edited, cropped and labeled on my computer. My journaling is done. My bits and bobs need to be sorted but there was not that much from this week. In the winter we tend to stick close to home and do a lot of lounging/playing indoors.

With the new year come a few changes at Counterfeit Kit Blog, the first being our Designer blog hop is now going to be on the sixth of the month showcasing our counterfeited kits. This month we copied the amazing Cocoa Daisy kits (there were several but I choose to work with two below).
I must admit I have a little bit of a head start as I am a stamp subscriber to them. I choose to copy Amber Snowflake and Snowflakes and Sunshine (I think that is the title). I was drawn to the cool tones, snowflakes of course and all the little details. Here is how I made it my own:
I choose to go with various shades of blue, glitter paper (a new thing for me) some brown-yellow and basic patterns. My main embellishment was of course snowflakes, felt, metal, shiny and glittered. I am calling my January kit "Frozen Hot Chocolate". I hope to use it in my project Life and everyday albums. I think it will work well for our winter photos if we ever get any snow. Something sweet, little and green (again!) I made. I hope when it gets to its new home it will be loved. I started with a small 4X4 green canvas that I scored for 66% off at HL after Christmas and went from there. I even broke out my sparkling chalks from 2004, that was BEFORE I was seriously scrapping (like two years before!). I like the subtle bling they give it though. I did a lot of stamping and cutting on this one too. I was blessed with several Unity stamp sets for Christmas from my MIL and Mom so I want to make sure I use them! What do you think?

small and green

If you are anything like me, you ALWAYS forget at least ONE birthday a year (or more?). Well this year I was determined it was not going to happen so I made myself one of these little beauties. Super simple, and small enough to keep in your purse or in a stationary box or really wherever. Each month has one little page (about 3X5) with the dates and blank lines to write your loved ones names. There is a plastic paperclip to keep track of the month, I try to work a month in advance (but am already behind!).

Project Life-Title Page

So I decided to do this for many reasons this year. One because it is our first year in the new house. Two because we are expecting our second little one in July. Three because I don't want to get behind, and finally because I thought it was a neat concept. I will be doing it different than intended, it will be a weekly or sometimes monthly review, of all the little moments. I WANT to journal daily and would LIKE seven pictures from the week but if it does not happen that is just fine by me. I ordered the Turquoise Core kit, some digital journal cards, and Design B page protectors. I would love to get some Design A when they come in stock too. I am using an Aqua We R Memory Keepers faux leather D ring album and various other protectors as I see fit. Some weeks will be only pocket layouts, some will be traditional 12X12 some will be 6X12 it all depends on that week. I hope giving myself this freedom and easy structure to follow I will follow through. Do I think I will get behind? YES! But it will be OK! Life is not perfect so why should my reflection of it be?

Here is my first title page. This is actually the first layout I have done in months so be nice. I am TRYING to get my mojo back.

Every year I like to make some goals to work towards even though this is simply my hobby right now. This year is no different. So let's get to it!

2012 Scrapping Goals

1. SPEND WAY LESS!

2. Complete Project Life in a weekly format, but DON'T let it stress me out!

3. Figure out a good system for storing our memorabilia and the bits/pieces of our daily lives.

4. Complete a pregnancy journal/book, since this will be our last journey on this path of life.

5. Make more home decor, gifts, and cards for our lives to cut down on costs and use my stash.

6. Try to get published just because.

7. Continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby and all the things it brings into my life to include documentation of our lives past and present, story telling, great friends and reflection on our blessing and hardships.

As promised here are all the wonderful things Sharon made/bought for me.(with the exception of Day one I lost the picture) I love them all. I know she put a LOT of effort and time into these and I so appreciate that. It makes me smile! Without further ado here you go!

Day 2: altered stick pin holder in Christmas colors

Day 3: HOME altered in black/white/silver They already have a home on my bookshelf!

Day four: lots of fun embellishments and ribbons!

Day 5: My favorite! I love rosettes but I HATE making them! I have already hung this beauty up in my living room for Christmas! Gorgeous! I know how long this took and I love it!

Day 6: Lots of fun Christmas buttons, brads and bottle caps!

Day 7: The paper pad she used on Day one, an altered box. I love kraft so this was PERFECT!

Day 8: adorable candy jar with vinyl. I already put mini candy canes and set it up on our counter.

Day 9: An adorable mini that we will explore in a few days when I get good shots of the amazing work inside! This is all about the letter C: C is for Christmas, cookies, carols, crafting, cuddles, and CAITLYN! I love it!

Day ten: a Cart I have wanted forever! Thank you!

Day 12: YAY! An alphabet strip, I am into making my own letters/thickers since I got my big shot so this was super fun!

I always have a lot of fun with this swap! I love to see how everyone interprets and/or gets inspired by the words. It is always so much fun!

Day 11-Christmas past, present, future

Day ten and twelve I bought-Some embossing folders and her big surprise! I hope she likes it since I got a GREAT deal on it otherwise it would not have fit into the budget for this swap!

Day eleven is an altered dollar frame from Michaels for her to put a picture of the whole clan during Christmas. She is so excited about this Christmas since all her family will be around for the first and probably last time. I hope she gets a great picture to place in this frame so she always remember it!

The little altered wooden spools were just something extra I did and tried for the first time. I think I like them but I wish I would have used different colored wire, but it was all I had at the time and with my spending slowdown/freeze I am determined to use what I have and NOT buy anything!

Now start thinking about those crafting goals for 2012 ladies! I will be back with those and 2011 top 12 projects of the year!

Day 9-Step it up

Yes ***I*** made the words of inspiration and I substituted them! Yes I did so there! LOL! I altered a huge wooden S I picked up on clearance while in Kentucky. I stuck with blue/white with hints of brown. I tried to "vintage" it up a bit as that is the style she prefers. I hope I was successful!

Day 8-Sweetness of the season

Today was rather simple. I took some clear tubes I had in my stash, altered a little bit, made a tag and filled with candy. I sure hope she enjoys them and she can reuse the containers by replacing/removing the decorations.

Day 6 I bought, it was a bunch of vintage/shabby chic bling, baubles, etc.

Day 7 I really stepped out of my comfort zone. I have seen these salt/pepper shaker button/paper flowers everywhere lately and decided to try my hand at them. I am not sure I like them. I used Bo Bunny Snowfall paper, clear and blue buttons. I hope she liked them as I am not sure.

Days of Christmas swap-Day 2,3,4

I hosted my annual 12 days of Christmas swap on the Cricut Messageboard. Here are the first three days that I made for my partner. Day one is not pictured but it was a little bit altered address book. Day two is the To Do frame from an Ikea picture frame. One side says to do and the other is for her to keep track of swaps. Day three was a mini for her Christmas this year. Her family is going to be together for the first and last time for a while so I did a page for each person to write down their favorite memory and a snapshot of them. Day four were old SU! wood blocks that I altered to spell out HOME. I sure hope she likes the things so far.

I have not felt like crafting or anything in the past few weeks. I just want to sleep and I spend a lot of time in the bathroom (first trimester and all) but I am here I promise! Don't forget about me!lol

Day five-Circle of Love/Trust

Today the words of inspiration were "Circle of Love/Trust". Well I had all intentions of doing a circle banner but instead this wooden sign evolved. I tied the words together with the circle bling, like how I stretched that? LOL! This little sign was a wooden one I picked up while in Kentucky for .50. I painted it, layered several white/silver/blue papers, made faux chipboard using the Cricut. Add some cuttlebug, ribbon, bling and glittery snowflakes and there you go. I almost did not send this one as I loved it so much!

Today I am sharing a past project for Counterfeit kit blog. Enjoy!

The trees are from M's they are the cardboard ones since I was too cheap to buy the foam (four bucks a tree vs 1.19 for the big one here.) NOW the ribbon tree and I fought, A LOT but I love how it came out just do NOT put your hand inside as the ribbon is held on there with pearl stick pins since the glittered ribbon I was using would NOT stick! I think I used six or eight whole rolls of ribbon on it, but I did not pay more than a buck for each roll. I LOVE how it came out! I will be packing it up nicely and using it over and over.

Now with the button tree which I must admit I love the best, I painted the chipboard (I think that is what it is) tree with green acrylic paint, then got all my red and green and a few clear buttons out and randomly placed them on there with glue dots. Some are held with pearl pens and then some Sticko Shimmering silver dots (LOVE THESE THINGS NEED TO FIND MORE!) for some added bling. Super simple and easy and I love it! I did use all but two of my red buttons though LOL!

Both of the trees have toppers from the mini tree area at Hobby Lobby ( I think they were a buck a piece).(Put the topper on the button one after pictures!) Not too bad for two very unique pieces huh? I have one more and had intentions of doing it with scrap paper, curled up but it will be a project for next year.

What do you think? They are so much more vibrant in person and blingy!

I made these last year and they are still just as pretty and in tack this year as they are sitting on our kitchen table as the centerpieces!

Today we celebrated C's actual birthday with cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls and friends over for play. It was loud. It was chaotic, it was a bit stressful but she loved it! She did not freak out when we all sang her happy birthday although she was a bit shy! She loved eating her TWO cupcakes at her special Princess place at the table. She also was very blessed with money from family/friends and she immediately told us that Mr. Piggy bank was hungry and needed his belly full. So all her money went straight into the piggy bank!

This is the baby doll that Nanee and Papaw got her. She cries, whimpers, giggles, coos and sucks. Caitlyn carries her everywhere making sure to hold her head and put her in the carrier that Cassie gave us. She is going to be a fantastic big sister.

Santa sent C a message! A video! Look at that smile! She was amazed that he had pictures of her and knew that she was trying really hard to pick up her toys! I LOVE the look on her face, THIS is what Christmas joy is all about!

Here she is trying out her new skates from Mawmaw and Pawpaw. She knows she is NOT to wear them without the helmet. She is trying to walk in them but she will get it, she is super smart!

Caitlyns birthday present from Mommy and Daddy is this swing/seat combo from Ikea. Sulley was found this morning sitting and reading it all wrapped up in his blanket! Adorable! Good idea J!

This is November 23. We splurged and bought tickets to go see ICE! at the Gaylord National Harbor. This year the theme was Merry Madagascar. I was simply amazed! It was only nine degrees in there but it was so fun! There were 2 MILLION pounds of ice carved into these amazing scenes and figurines. Caitlyn's favorite part of course was the five slides! She went down them at least ten times! The coat we were given to wear was all the way down to her ankles! She was so cute! We were dancing, singing, and just generally having a great time. At the end there was a mini train that her and Daddy rode, lots of gifts/trinkets and even a mini ice skating rink! I think we have found our new kick off the holidays tradition!

NOVEMBER 24: Thanksgiving and preparing for Christmas/Return of Sulley

Caitlyn was all about putting the tree up this year. We usually wait until AFTER her birthday but she has been asking/begging for weeks and weeks. So instead of going to Michael's on Thanksgiving we stayed home and put up our tree and sparse decorations. She literally drug all three sections out of the box and snapped them together, she is so strong! Of course she gets to do the topper and helped Mommy decorate (notice the FIVE jingle bells on one branch). The tree is perfect for us.

Daddy and Caitlyn found Sulley the elf hiding in a stocking! Caitlyn remembered his name and everything! She was super excited and immediately started posing and snapping pictures! She is so much like her Mommy!

This was the official return of Sulley. He was trying to get in the house and got stuck on the outside window! C ran upstairs to get keys to "unlock" the door to let him in since he was "super cold brrrr. Mommy he is shaking like a leaf. He needs to come inside I wanna kiss him!" She has loved finding Sulley every morning since!

NOVEMBER 25: Today Caitlyn and I hit a few stores later in the morning after the black Friday nuttiness! This is how she found Sulley today! Peek a boo I see you (C thought he was playing like a Jack in the box)

November 26: Today brought Sulley playing the trees that Mommy made last year. A ribbon and a button one! Silly Sulley!
NOVEMBER 27: Today we stayed close to home and hung out. There was lots of lego building, picture snapping, baby playing, running outside and computer playing!

NOVEMBER 28: Today Caitlyn started receiving cards for her birthday from the wonderful Cricut Card Fairy Army. one of them had fairy dust in it which we needed to sprinkle on the front yard for good wishes. She loved putting the "sparklies" all over the place. Sulley was also caught trying to text Santa on Mommy's phone. Naughty Sulley!

NOVEMBER 29/30: Not much holiday themed these days. However Sulley is still out in full force. On the 29th Caitlyn found him trying to sleep in the fruit bowl. He was hiding inside Daddy's gloves on the 30th, just barely peeking out. He was super cold!
DECEMBER 1: Today we started our Countdown to Christmas calendar, our Chocolate advent calendar and Sulley colored C a picture. Thus far this is her favorite way of finding Sulley. The calendar is super special. It was made four years ago by 25 ladies on the Cricut board and I was assigned day 25 (angel) since that is when C was to be born. It also helps with counting, number recognition and the ever present "when is Santa coming?" question! The chocolate Advent calendar has been a tradition in our family for years and years. I had one every year I was growing up and we continued that with Caitlyn!

DECEMBER 2: Today was a fun filled day. Caitlyn woke up to find Sulley all wrapped up in the ribbon. He was trying to fix it and got stuck. She thought it was hilarious. We had breakfast and then all of us headed to her four year old check up. Mommy was DREADING it as all the past doctors appointments have left us both in tears/angry. But this time she was AMAZING! Simply amazing. She did all that was expected/asked of her and only cried when the shots came. She was such a big girl we took her to see Santa for the year, then out to a special lunch. She was so patient and good while waiting in line to see Santa and even talked to him this year. YAY! After seeing Santa his elf asked if she would like to write a letter to the troops. She said "Yes just like Uncle Mac" Our good family friend that is currently stationed in Germany. She drew a red Santa and a green reindeer! Such a sweetie, she even kissed the card before putting it in the box.

DECEMBER 3: Today was spent at home (minus errands). We have a very busy week coming up starting tomorrow so we took time out to relax (or try to) today. Sulley was VERY naughty and made a salt snow angel on my granite counter tops today! NAUGHTY little elf! Lots of cuddling, playing outside and Mommy spent the night wrapping birthday AND Christmas presents. Mommy HATES wrapping so she was grumpy after this!

Don't you love the tree camo paper? I have had it for years and always wrap my Dads gifts in it! The box above is for my parents/brother and the one below is for the in-laws. Almost done and they will be sent off this coming Friday.

DECEMBER 4: Duck Pin bowling party. Today we celebrated for the first time, with just five of Caitlyn's closest friends. We all gathered at a local bowling alley that does Duck Pin bowling (smaller balls and pins and the kids get three tries per frame). We had a ramp which made the balls go so fast and since we were on the end the kids were able to run in between all the waiting. I think everyone had fun!

DECEMBER 5: Today was spent cleaning the house and trying to keep sane. Today was one of "those" days where I kept dropping things, breaking things, things kept falling and generally just a laugh or you may cry sort of day! Jonathan made 4 dozen cupcakes for C's cupcake playdate tomorrow. C requested chocolate and pink since they are now her favorite colors. After dinner the three of us had one single cupcake with a candle. Jon has to work tomorrow so this was our own private celebration. We had to sing "Happy birthday" three times before she would wait to blow out her candle. She informed me that she was missing a party hat so I will whip one up while whipping out our snowman soups tonight. Happy almost fourth birthday baby girl!

DECEMBER 6: Happy fourth birthday sweet monster of mine! I can't believe you are four. Today we have 15 plus kids and their mommies come over for cupcakes and play. Today you found Sulley is the silliest position so far. He was hanging upside down from the top stairs! OH MY! We have to get "pixie dust and get him down" "Don't worry Sulley we will save you!" Your imagination cracks me up. You have changed so much this year, your verbal, problem solving and imagination skills are exploding. I love it (most of the time). I love you sweet monster stink pot!

Christmas Cookie Sheet Countdown-Revisited

This countdown to Christmas calendar is FOUR years old! I participated in an awesome swap with some very talented ladies. Everyone made one day with the number and something Christmas themed. You made 25 of those and got back one of your own and 24 others so that you had the complete set. I added magnets and painted the inside of a cookie sheet, altered it with some paper and ribbon and of course a cricut title and have hung it up every year. This was extra special because it was done when I was pregnant with Caitlyn, I did day 25 (the angel). Heather, a good friend, made sure to that I got a spot and that it was this one since Caitlyn was due around that time, our little angel. Get it? LOL! Still warms my heart! I love it!
You could do this quickly by yourself, with just a cheap or even USED cookie sheet! You could do individual different days like I have or keep it super simple and just cut numbers with magnets. You could also do bottlecaps with various items/scenes/themes. The possibilities are endless!!! It also doubles as a learning tool for numbers, counting and count down activities. Caitlyn (and Mommy) love the tradition!

Green, Red and bling oh MY! Yep it is ALREADY December! Although my December "daily" will be as I see fit, not really daily since that would stress me out and make me quit, I am having fun. I have a few pages done but no pictures so once I get those printed I will post my first few layouts. I did one about our Thanksgiving, putting up the tree, Sulley (elf on a shelf) return, and going to see ICE!. I have been writing down things and snapping pictures but not beyond that. I know that we will be super busy from tomorrow through the 12th but after that I hope to get LOTS of scrappy time in the warm basement!

So today I am sharing my album I made, well altered. This was a black American Crafts album (d ring of course) in my stash. I painted it with green soft fabric paint, stamped some polka dots with stazon ink and then used a pencil eraser and white paint to make the white polka dots. Add some bling, twine, and felt thickers and there you have it. Oh yes and LOTS AND LOTS of buttons for the button tree! I hope you like it. Are you doing December Daily if so please link me up!

Good morning! Here is to hoping you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and if you braved Black Friday you were safe and successful. Today I am super excited to be participating in the last CKCB blog hop of 2011 with the very talented ScrapTastic design team. Now this is also the end of the era for end of the month CKCB Designer blog hop, we will be starting January 2012 FRESH with a blog hop revealing our kits at the beginning of the month YAY! Here is what I came up with for our last end of the month end of the year CKCB blog hop! Our challenge this month was Home Decor. This was simply perfect for me since we just settled into our new house this month! I have made these for friends in the past in frames but I wanted a little more dimension for mine.
I used a dollar tree wood plank, stripped it, painted it and embellished it. I even used my Cricut (YAY ME!) What do you think?

Good morning! I hope this finds you well in the new season. Did you set your clocks back? I hope you enjoy your extra hour this weekend! Today I am here to share with you my November Counterfeit Challenge Kit-Forever Fall. We copied one of two kits from the awesome Scraptastic Club
I choose to work with the Autumn Splendor kit pictured below.Isn't it filled with yummy goodness? For the papers I tried to keep at the same amount and added an add on of additional pattern paper that I think will work with my fall pictures and/or my Gratitude Journal for this month. Below is my kit affectionately named Forever Fall. I will post close ups of some of the yumminess below that.

Here are my main papers counterfeited from the kit: See I did keep it rather small!
And what is a kit without embellishments to include homemade journal cards, Maya Road chipboard houses, wooden buttons, and TWINE! I also included some Studio Calico stamps that I have not used as of yet. Not pictured is a few cloud dies which I will use to make white felt clouds using my Big Shot. What do you think?

And last but not least my add on of patterned paper. I LOVE fall and buy LOTS of it, almost as much as people that love Christmas. I don't have much in the way of Christmas but ask me for Fall and I got ya covered. So link me up to your kits! I love to spread the comment love!

Homemade round four swap items

I hosted the fourth round of Homemade swap where I partner ladies up and they create four things off a long list for their partner. It was due October 10, well with the move and getting sick I was not able to meet up with my partner (who lives ten minutes from me WOOHOOO) until last night! This round we were to choose one theme from the five our partners listed and create our items in that theme alone. I choose FALL for my partner and created five things. My items were a 6X6 canvas, a 5X7 clear frame altered to a to do list with dry erase marker, some note cards to put in the Soldiers packages that she sends out, three simple candle holders with LED tea lights, and a note box (this was my first one and it was not perfect). I had a blast (as always) creating for Jen and I hope she enjoyed the items as much as I enjoyed the one she made for me (pics coming soon!)

Good morning. I know I have been a spastic blogger at best! I apologize. Today I wanted to share the wall decorations that I did for my space in the basement. I used my cricut, some circle punches and blue and brown vinyl. I love it!!! What do you think? Also how awesome is that 12X12 tile sign that smlbugg made me on the CMB? I love it! I want to hang it up but gotta figure that one out, for now it is on an easel on my desk. I love it! Thanks again hon!

Scrappy supplies to the rescue!

So C is MAJORLY into Dora the Explorer right now. She is all about it! Well she wanted a backpack and a map just like Dora (those things are expensive by the way). So since I know that her phases are shorter than her attention span sometimes I made her one with things we already had. Her Papaw bought her this little back pack last year and it is the perfect size. So with some scor tape I adhered huge googly eyes, and a red pipe cleaner for a map-VOILA instant backpack that has not come off all morning long! Then she requested a map, so a scrap of white card stock, more googly eyes and a piece of the pipe cleaner, some scrap ribbon and there you go. One very happy girl. Yay for a big stash. What have you made with your scrappy supplies to help out around the house?

The basement is done! YAY! I am sure I wil do some rearranging as we start living in here but the basic set up is done. I need to LABEL everything and sort/organize my stamps but besides that I am done! YAY! It is not magazine worthy but it works for us and we each have our own designated area and lots of space for C to run in the middle YAY! Plus having a bathroom with a SINK down here ROCKS!! Having a potty for C is great too LOL! Here are some pictures, hope you like it there is a lot of sweat, a few tears and even some blood in this room!

The back side. The paper cabinet J made me only has about four shelves of card stock in it as I decided to go vertical with all my pattern paper. The little one on top of that has some half or less stacks that I will go through eventually.

My homemade clip it up. I cleared out two four drawer jetmax with this thing! YAY! AND only the bottom is full, the middle is about 1/3 and the top is empty!

Did you miss me?

Did you miss me? Well I am still buried in boxes BUT we made great progress this weekend with the inlaws here. The first floor is done; the basement floor has been laid/installed/quarteround; C's room is painted and almost done; everything in the garage; all new linens and a few new decorations were bought (for Christmas for us!); and the pantry is stocked. Next is getting the basement (craft area, play area and office) set up. Then I will work on the master bedroom (needs painting) and the guest bath/room. I am so happy! So here are a few pictures....hope to be crafting again SOON! I NEED IT! LOL!

Ladybug Cutie and a recommendation

Anyone that knows me knows that I am not all that into Halloween. Now my Dad on the other hand LIVES for it! We were always the house full of scary/gory decorations and Dad loves thinking of different ways to scare the older kiddos. He sets up graveyards and everything. Anyway, this was C's costume last year. I just loved it. We had it bought as soon as Halloween came out in the stores and she insisted on carrying her Minnie Mouse purse with it, at least they color coordinated! This layout sketch is from Let's Scrap. I did not follow it exactly since I only had four pictures but I think you can tell where the inspiration came from. As you know I don't have many of my supplies with me so I had to resort to clip art from the Internet for the lady bug. Added some white dots, faux stitching and there you go.

Now I am a self expressed lover of Signo White Gel pens, but my LSS raised the price again right before we left to almost four bucks a pop. Well while in Target I happened to see these white pens hanging on an end cap and the price was right to try TWO for 2.99! (this is a picture of the single one, the one I purchased was a double pack) I have to say I LIKE THEM! I used them on this layout and they write just as smoothly as the Signos and I did not have any of the skipping like I have had with other brands. So there is my enabler alert for the week!

As you know we built a home, well as you are reading this we are IN IT! We closed yesterday (if all went well) and spent the FIRST night in our new house. Today is delivery of appliances, getting flooring picked up, and FIOS installed. I hope to be back to blogging in a week! Wish us luck!

Aren't these papers so bright and fun??? Thank you JulieClawser for sending them to me! She blessed me a few months back with Echo Park Country Drive for the happy mailbox on the CMB. I love these papers and they were just perfect for the silly pics of C with stickers all over her! I know I used a sketch from somewhere but not sure where, so if you recognize it please let me know so I can give credit. How do you like the little "x" faux stitching? Too much? Not enough? I love word stickers right now and was so happy to see that this collection came with so many! YAY! Added a little faux stitching to a few; pop dotted the bee; a bling swirl and there you go! What do you think?

Crafts and Chicken fun

This is the single layout I did with a few more pictures from that fun day. I sure hope C does not grow out of this tradition too soon as I love it. I like seeing her smile and play and figure things out. The weather is usually great, the scenery is amazing and they have demonstrations for woodworking etc that I find rather interesting. I hope we at least have six or seven more years of this before I am dragging her there :)!

Kinderfarm Harvest Days

We love fall! Seriously it is the best time of year for us, we do so many more activities in the fall. I love the colors the Earth is during this time and the weather is just perfect for my tastes. I try to pack something into every weekend (sometimes three things!). Last year we started a new tradition for our little family and that was attending the free Kinderfarm Harvest Days activities. It is one day of pure free (mostly) fun out in a beautiful park. C loves the park on normal days so add in face painting, petting zoos, pumpkins, rides, crafts, and games and she is in heaven overload. Here is my first layout about this new family tradition. It is almost my second assignment for Allison Davis' Sketch Support class this week. I tried, really I did, to go off the exact sketch but it is not exactly like the one she gave us to work with. Oops, I am think I am stuck using them as suggestion instead of direction which makes sense if you know me since I am not so great at taking orders :).

Hey there! Today I am here to share a layout based on Allison Davis two page sketch HERE. I stamped quite a bit on these layouts. I stamped the journal box, and the date circle on the left page. The right page each of the squares have stamped sayings, brackets, circles with hearts, and scallop circles that I used to mount my tiny embellishment clusters on. The sketch originally called for 9 pictures but I was able to get 11 on here and I don't think it looks too busy! So what have you stamped lately!?

Hey all! Yes we are still in KY, waiting for the builders to fix the things we found during the home inspection before we close. Once that is done C and I will travel back home to start loading up our new home! Our very own home! YAY! I am so excited! So close yet so far!

Anyways, I signed up for the wonderful Sketch Support class taught by Allison Davis before we left and I am glad I did. Even with the limited supplies (and the ones that I bought while here) I am getting some things done. Here is my week one, assignment one. I wish I would have used a different card stock for base as this one looks washed out to me but I forgot all my card stock minus white/Kraft/and the few sheets in my CKCB Sept kit OOPS!

This is from my CKCB kit for this month. I saw a layout online that did the staggered rounded rectangles, however I had lots more pictures than the four she had on her layout so this is my version. I had to hand draw and color the water droplets, I think they add just the right touch. These are from our day at Port Discovery, there are several layouts from this day as it was jam packed with activities but the water room was C's favorite hands-down. I tried something different this time and only inked my photos; not mat them, not sure how I feel about this yet. What do you think?

While here in KY two people have blessed C with some items. So I wanted to make sure they knew that we were thankful. I whipped (read it took me over an HOUR!) these two cards together with my kit. Stamp me some paper baby!

YAY! I am so happy I got to play for this mini challenge on the CKCB this month! I have tons and tons of stamps (love them!) and always forget to USE them. So this month I made sure to pack LOTS of them and various inks (but forgot my embossing things UGH) to ensure I would USE the stamps!

For this layout I lined up four different circles from the PTI Boy Basics: Simple Circles stamp set and stamped my yellow textured background in green, two oranges, and a red. Then I stamped several of the bigger circles, used a one inch circle punch to punch them out, and popped them on some SU! Dimensionals (Thanks Jamie!) for a little depth on the layout. With the smaller circles I faux stitched and dotted around them for added detail. Pop a few blings on randomly and there is my background paper. What do you think? I also stamped three journal boxes to hold mini embellishments and of course the journaling. YAY! So how have YOU used stamps lately!?!?

OK here you go ladies and gents. I LOVE fall like most people LOVE Christmas time! It is what most of my supplies are made of these days. We do SO much in the Fall usually so I do use most of it! Here are the things I made for the I Love Fall/Halloween swap I hosted on the Cricut Messageboard. We were to make five thing and buy five things. I hope Dee Ann loves what I made her as I had a great time (after a minor freak out after I forgot flowers and buttons!) making these for her. Good morning! It is that time of month already, the best time in my humble opinion. DT Reveal day at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. I have a huge kit this month only because I pulled tons and tons of fall out of my stash to go home and it coincided with the kit we are copying this month YAY! I may only get the challenges done this month but I like that I have this kit pulled for later as fall is my favorite time of year hands down. We do lots of activities and I scrap at least 30-40 layouts easily from just end of August to Thanksgiving. We love our Fall around here. So without further ado, or jabbering by me here is the REAL kit from Sweet Peach Crop Stop Sept 2010 Juicy.
Now you will notice there are lots of browns, greens, some black and red with a splash of yellow. Well I took the green, yellow, red, brown and a few patterns and went from there. My kit is much more "fall" colored than this one but if you notice I have a polka dot paper, cherry paper (think it is the same one), striped paper, and lots of journal cards, buttons, bling, ribbon, and alphabets that are also in the original kit. Here is my kit (below):
I have included several fun things to alter in fall themes as possible home decor for the new home. I have some Maya Road bottle caps, chipboard pieces (maybe a mini?) and not pictured is a frame/shadowbox. I threw in several trims, decorative tapes, fall themed stickers, corduroy buttons/brads, tags, alphabets, and even some fabric swatches and velvet paper. I was even a good girl and pulled a few pieces from my scraps before I recycled them, figured it was good to start new and fresh in the new space. I hope to get around to see all your kits at least, if you don't hear from me, it is simply because I am buried in family fun time or boxes, take your pick :) LOL.

I love love love these pictures. The one on the far right (last one) page was blown up and framed for part of my Mother's day gift this year. J set up an impromptu photo shoot while I was off volunteering one day. The many faces/personalities of C sure did come out in this shoot. You can see where she was play laughing, really laughing, was pouting because she was "done taking pictures" and the finished product. I absolutely love these pictures. I only had one piece of pattern paper for this two page spread so what is a girl to do? STRETCH IT! I decided I wanted polka dots to mimic the ones on C's dress. I punched 1.75, 1.5 and 1 inch circles with my punches, cut out the journal spot. I knew I would not have enough to cover the whole page so I left room for an embellishment cluster (or my version at least), and then figured out where I wanted the pictures, laid them out, lightly traced and did not fill that space in. For added interest I faux stitched around some, added bling, butterfly bubble things, clear heart buttons from Ephiphany crafts tied with twine, Maya Road chipboard butterflies, inked with sharpies and white pen. I also added some primas, inked to blue from pink to match, and some bling swirls. I love how this one came out and will probably frame them to go on the wall since I love the pictures so much!

Southern Girls

I made this layout for Shimelle's online crop a few weekends ago but never it loaded up, so no prize for me BUT I am super glad I got it done. This is my BFF Cassie, the mother of the other two little girls you see in my creations every so often. We are both Southern girls stuck "up north". She is from SC and I am essentially from KY area so we have a lot in common from that, but also with how we see things, the way we parent, a lot of the important stuff. This picture was snapped at my "annual" Easter Egg hunt.I love spending time with this girl and she is really a blessing in my life. We met on accident on the street on Halloween a few years back and I truly believe higher power/beings were at work. I will be so sad when they relocate next year :(

Good morning. There is the Kraft Card stock I am "famous" for LOL! I used my cricut and the new lite that hubby brought home for me from Wal-mart a few weeks back, Slumber party. Who knew I would use such a girl themed cart on a layout about J and C? I think I did a good job of not making it TOO girly! Everything was cut at 2/5 inches and colored with Bic Mark-its or Sharpies. Lots of corner rounding. I also made my own "thickers" using white self adhesive fun foam, my Big Shot and a Cuttlekids alphabet! I love how they turned out!

I love that J will do her nails and toenails, it is special time for them and apparently after trying to do them I do them wrong! LOL! That is fine, I think she is a very lucky girl to have a Daddy that will do her mani and pedi! He loves her so much and I think it is super sweet!

As you are reading this I am on the road with my brother (who flew in to help me drive all the way to KY) and my daughter headed to stay with the parents while the house is finished being built. ALMOST THERE!

I am down to scraps with my kit but I think over 14 layouts is great out of this kit as it was smaller than I normally throw together. I love these pictures of C's second BFF, she has a lot of allergies so when the other kiddos were having cake at the party she got to have a yummy blue ring pop! She loved it as you can tell! Thanks to my wonderful hubby for the creative and cute title! It may be hard to see but I did some random misting (usually not my thing) but I need some color on the white background. Did you notice this month that most of my layouts were on white backgrounds instead of Kraft? Yep I am versatile like that HAHAH! How many creations did you get done this month with your CKCB kit?

This is my take. I promise I started with the sketch and had all intentions of doing it EXACTLY like shown as I think Allison's style is just like mine in the sense of lots of photos, minimum embellishments. However it did not turn out that way and that is just fine. See I believe that sketches are a starting point for everyone (or at least me) and where you go from there is all up to you and your pictures. The bones are about the same but I did not want to crop my pictures this time around so I substituted those and moved the journaling from the top to the bottom portions of each page. I had quite a bit to say surprisingly.

These pictures are from our first ever National Cherry Blossom festival and I must say it will be a tradition as they were so gorgeous. Some of the shots we captured that day truly look just like the expensive post cards they were selling, only better! Lots of spray ink, soft pink, and stamping. The gorgeous cherry blossoms are from Wild Orchid crafts and a great friend (thanks Tiara) sent them to me knowing I had these pictures.

I used scraps torn up and layered. The rest of the fantastic border sticker is used on the bottom and as a corner accent. I stretched that one border thicker far huh? LOL! Gotta do what you gotta do! Good morning! Today I want to share a two page layout that I made using my CKCB kit AND some awesome American Craft thickers from SoCal Scrapbooks! This is layout 11-12 for CKCB! I am so impressed I got this many done this month, I think I may be trying to fit several months into one since next month and most of October I will be without many (if any) supplies. So here you go.

These pictures are from C's BFF's fourth birthday party back in May of this year. I thought the glazed thickers went very well with the theme. They are super sticky and dimensional so they were perfect for this layout! I used the cupcake on the bottom left, cut up a border one for the journal box top and bottom, and another cupcake in the center of the right page. What do you think? I think they add just the right amount of pop for these fun pages!

CKCB 9-10 Birthday Fun

Good morning. I am cranking these layouts out this month, before the move of course, it was my stress relief. At this point I was almost out of my main papers for the kit YAY! I need to focus on using more flowers though. I did sneak one in on here, see the "sun" yes that backing is a cut up flower. I did add the brads to this layout but the rest is the kit! Again started with a sketch and strayed so far it is not recognizable. I usually just use them for photo sizes/placements and go from there. I love the little "Happy B day Che" banner I made with the letter stickers and some other stickers in the Echo Park Walk in the Park line from my main kit. These pictures are from C's best friends fourth party this past summer. I will have at least three more layouts to cover all the pictures I took there! The kids had a blast! Have you noticed that I am doing more layouts on white? Nice change of pace huh? I had to go buy some at Jo-Ann's when it was on sale since I do not keep a lot on hand and needed the Coordenations for the heftiness. I will probably have to go get another 20 sheets or so while it is on sale since where we are going for a bit all that is there is a Michael's :(.

Yep more purple, it is actually the last scrap I had. I used some awesome tickets that my friend Jamie stamped for me, distressed and folded them to act as a bit of a border. The night I did this layout I was a little aggravated with hubby's credit cards being compromised, the stress of the move etc so I took it on my paper, can ya tell? I do love the photos tough! So sweet when she is sleeping, it is how God guarantees we don't hurt them LOL! Just joking!

These are pages 6 and 7 for this month using my main kit. I did add the thicker letter title. I used a sketch from Allison Davis but it really does not look like that anymore OOPS! LOL But that is why I love sketches, you can so easily make them your own. I also tried inking the edges of my pictures on the left page instead of matting, what do you think? I am not sold just yet! I like getting them printed with the border, saves me a step!

Do you ever do page(s) that start in one direction but the journaling takes you somewhere totally different? Well that is what happened here. These pictures are of the first play date that C had with her BFF; whom we met on the street Halloween night. I was GOING to talk about how much fun they had and how this was the beginning of a friendship for them but somehow the journaling talked more about HOW we met and how things are now a few years later. Strange how that happens but it was good to get those words and that story down on paper since they do mean so very much to us! I used my main kit for these layouts also. The only thing I added was the SU shape that my great friend Jamie cut for me years ago! I love how the title block came out with the addition of those stickers.

The first challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is to use one of Allison Davis's sketches but not for the intended purpose. For example use one of her layout sketches to make a card or her card sketch to make a layout. I choose to do the later. I loved the soft curves and layering that was present in her Card Sketch 8. I used all papers/embellishments from my main kit this month. I am really into rounding edges lately so expect to see that for a little bit here. So are you up for the challenge? Here is another layout using purple. I did use a sketch from one of Allison Davis's book for the bottom portion. Again with the rounded edges, I warned you! MORE purple, GLITTER thickers WOW this is a feat in of itself! See all those little yellow flowers? I have had those for what eight years or so now? So glad I can use them up! Don't you love when you use up supplies? I do! Now don't go calling the CPS on me, she is in capris because it was pretty warm, however, the 80 plus inches of snow we got that year had not all vanished yet. I promise it was not cold out!

This is the LEAST used color for me but the next few layouts I did required it. I don't own a lot in this color family so I had to stretch what I did own. I wanted to do a layout that was mainly pictures and had banners, so this is what I came up with. I sort of like it. And look I used GLITTER THICKERS! WOW! Purple AND glitter WOW! LOL!

Oh man that shadow on the pictures is horrendous, so sorry. I was/am in a hurry as we pack and get ready to relocate until the house is done. I am not thrilled with this layout but I do like the way that the title section came out. I used a shaped journal ledger piece and some Doodlebug letters that matched pretty well with the Echo Park papers. And here again; like in the Lego layout I popped some circles up for a little lift. How are you doing on your kit? Made anything yet?

I have wanted to scrap these pictures for quite awhile; however there were about triple this amount and it was daunting to me. I finally decided to pick my absolute favorites for this two page spread and I will insert the rest into my new love, divided page protectors, and be done. It may be hard to tell but I hand cut several areas of blocks and popped them up for some dimension. When we first arrived at this field trip she was NOT into it, she spent the first 30 minutes or so cuddled tightly in my lap but by the end she was over with the "teacher" doing it all by herself and showing off her tummy! Silly girl, she just takes awhile to warm up!

Good morning! It is that day, you know the day, the one you wait for all month long.....the fifth....OK so that was YESTERDAY but TODAY I am here to share MY version of the counterfeit kit. Since I am going to be packing/storing/relocating this month I went for EASY. Plus I really liked the creative/mini kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit club AND I had all of the papers in my stash from a while back. I needed some bright and fun and easy, did I mention EASY!? Well here is the kit from My Creative Scrapbook and below that is mine.

So this kit is so bright and fun, I added lots of alphas, bling, journal spots and flowers. I don't usually use a lot of flowers so it will be fun to use them up. I also add some bakers twine, polka dotted ribbon (sheer and grosgrain) and tiny little clothes pins that I thought were super cute! Link me to your kit so I can check it out! SoCal Scrapbooks-Nikki Sivils

Happy August! Is it really August? WOW! Well I need to get my butt in gear with packing this house up, and getting it ready to store while we are relocating.

Today I am sharing my August creation for SoCal Scrapbooks using the fun and cool colors of the Max and Mollie line by Nikki Sivils. I will admit, at first, I was LOST. I loved the papers but was clueless how to use them for pages of C. I mean they are designed for our pet babies (which we don't have) so there was the creative block there. Then all of a sudden while flipping through photos I came across these and the colors were just right. Everything but the twine, "fly", and white pen came from the collection pack. I have a thing for small letter stickers so I knew I wanted a long title. I choose "I hope you always FLY high." Again with the white pen, we all go through phases right? I think this is my white pen doodle phase! I had to AGAIN make a letter (the letter Y in fly) but I am using my stash and NOT going out and buying MORE letter stickers ( I have tons!). So what do you think? Did I successfully use pet paper for DD's layout?

Good morning today I am happy to share another creation for SoCal Scrapbooks. The wonderful Sandy sent me a La-La Land Marci with flower stamp (isn't it cute!?!?) and a few other things (you will see those another time). Here is my first try at coloring with bic/sharpies. I am not ready to invest in Copics, I don't color that much. I also used an American Crafts Bits circle to frame my sentiment which I typed and sized on the computer with my amazing hubby's help. It may be hard to read but it says "If friends were flowers, I'd pick you." I figured this was a good general card to have on hand. I hope you like it!

Good morning. Today I have 8 layouts to share with you (some doubles and some singles). Tea Time with Friends is from the main July kit and the rest are from my pirate add on kit. I can't believe I got 6 layouts of that kit and have two sheets I did not cut that will go back in my stash. WOW! So far this month that is 17 layouts, 2 cards (pics to come soon), and three altered projects. I would say that is pretty good. Now in August/Sept and half of October I probably won't get that many done if any since we will be moving/packing and relocating twice.

Counterfeit Kit Blog hop-FLOWER POWER!

Happy Hop day! I hope you are enjoying the hop so far. You should have came from our wonderful Guest Designer HELEN. I am sure she had something cool to show you. Today I am here to share my first attempt at making and USING recycled dryer sheet flowers. There is an awesome video link HERE that our great leaders posted. I did not watch it, just sort of winged it. I like them for altered projects but do not think I would include them on my pages.

So this book is a Kraft journal from Michael's, on clearance, are you surprised? LOL! I tore off the cover and altered it to it my needs. I am using this one to explore into the world of art journaling. It is rather fun I must admit.

For the flower I took several (I think five) dryer sheets and randomly hand cut (GASP!) circles from them. Then inked them up, layered them, attached with a fabric brad, more ink and there you go! I like the layers, wish I would have done more but maybe next time.

Now it is time to go and see what MELISSA has for you!!!

Easter Party

Sorry for the glare, it was BRIGHT when I was outside taking these and trying to keep Caitlyn from running into the street! These are from this past Easter (YAY ME!). I used a sketch from Sketches for Scrapbooking. I love how simple and quick they make my pages and I can still put my own spin on it! I did add the letters to my kit, ran out of the other ones!

I took my inspiration from Wendy McKee from Jillibean Soup HERE. I was intrigued by her use of tags, and bits and baubles. I am trying to get out of my comfort zone and try other styles so that is what I did here. I loved the white space, the butterflies, all the corrugated, the colors, the journal strips, OK I loved it ALL!

So here is my try. I am excited since I just received my big shot and was able to EMBOSS CHIPBOARD!!! WOW! Mine is a bit different than the wonderful one that Wendy did but I wanted it to be Me. So there are LOTS of polka dots (imagine that LOL), I only used three tags, and everything but the corrugated pieces were from my kit. What do you think? I had fun making this one so I can see me doing more of this style for my book of me.

I am so EXCITED! I had to make myself NOT write this WHOLE post in CAPS! LOL! OH my gosh! I am so excited. I have known since Saturday that I would be PUBLISHED on the Creating Keepsakes blog this week but I did not know WHEN! WELL IT IS TODAY!!!!!!! It is for the CK & Me portion (where you are inspired by layouts in the actual magazine). I NEVER thought I would be featured or picked, but my awesome and supportive hubby and my good friend Jamie made me submit and I am SO GLAD that they did!!!! Crazy for faux stitching!

This layout is half from my kit and half from other kits. I went nutty with the faux stitching. I think there may be a half of a Signo pen on this layout! I cut 2X2 pieces of brown and blue paper, inked with white chalk, rounded outer four corners and put it all together. Then my Signo and I became great friends! See those two blue and one clear flowers? I made those! They are resin embellishments! I did ink them a little bit to make them pop. A thicker title, some journal strips and there you go. What do you think?

So along with having a *slight* addiction to clear stamps my love for all things related to journaling is even greater! My partner in this swap has a little boy so all things girly, pink/etc were out. I actually LIKED doing it that way. We were to make a container with at least 10 prompts, a mini notebook to jot down ideas, and five handmade journal spots/tags. I **almost** did not send the tags as I love them! The blue tag with the twine, unties, opens and has three panels for additional journaling. I used several of my new PTI stamps and LOVE THEM! I am determined to use my stamps on at least every other project for the rest of the time we are in this house! So would you use these if you scrapped a toddler boy?

For the tin I used a gift card holder, just added a few details and covered the inside, put the prompts in them and there you go. The notebook is a mini comp book that I altered. I hope she liked them all.

Since I only had ONE of the felt loopy borders I had to chop and attach as needed, but I did it, I stretched it for both pages. How many pages have you done this month?

Good morning. Time to pull out those heat guns, embossing folders, stencils, old school light boxes, whatever will get the mission completed! There are so many ways to emboss and add a bit of texture to your pages/creations. What is your favorite way? What is a way you have always wanted to try but have yet to do so? What are you waiting for??? Now is the perfect time to do some embossing unless you are chicken of course LOL!

Here is what I came up with. I have had this super cool paper from Heidi Swapp for a few months (I snagged a bunch when it was on clearance at Michael s for like .29 or. 19 a sheet). Several of the sheets have been in several of my counterfeit kits but um yeah I have yet to use them...until NOW!

I used my new to me Jenni Bowlin inks in a blue and pink to match the clothes my Mom and daughter are wearing. I love how this one came out! I love polka dots of course and I love blue/pink so this is a great page in my eyes.

Rebus title work

Lately I have been trying to find different ways to make/use/create titles on my pages. I am getting bored. I love the use of rebus so I tried it on this one. What do you think? I love the action shots here. I used my new paper trey ink simple circles stamps to make the border, pop dotting some and not others to add dimension. I am not too happy with the journal spot but it will do for now.
