Layout 230

No challenge for this one. It will sit next to the layout 229 so I wanted them to have similar embellishments. I used the same two pattern papers, three different bazzill edges(white small scallop, red scallop, and white flowers), two different ribbons and staples (my new favorite)and of course some Thickers for the title. What do you think?

Layout 229-Practical Scrappers

Practical Scrappers
challenged us this week to use transparencies. I do not own a lot of them for the simple fact that I was clueless how to use them. For this layout I used a simple adhesive backed transparent tag with a quote. I backed it with red textured cardstock. I used a tag that I received from a journal tag swap on the cricut messageboard and of course thickers for the title. Not real creative but I love it anyways!

5 Things for the Craft Pot

I made this quick card for the challenge here: http://tcp5.blogspot.com/. I actually really like this one. The corners and the Beautiful are charcoal (as close to gray as I had sorry!) What do you think?

WSB and Sketchy Thursdays

So this is ALMOST done for WSB challenge 25. I forgot I had to use three pictures CRUD so I will try to redo or do another one by the 1st. I am submitting this for Sketchy Thursdays here: What do you think? I used Storybook at two inches for the YOU but that is all the cricut. I used a Crafters workshop doodling template for the dots and the journal lines. LOTS of distressing and inking. New stamps for the rest of the title (song title/lyric) required by WSB. Jonathan came up with the title I LOVE IT and I love Toby Keith so this goes well. Thanks for looking!

ScrapSketch 163

This is my design take on the above posted sketch. I did change it a bit by putting pink rickrack where you see the glue through the bottom of the page but forgot to take a picture. I love scrapsketch and am so happy that Stephanie allowed me to be a part of her design team. Click HERE to see the rest of the design teams work!!! Don't be afraid to join us!!!!

How nifty is this thing? I mean seriously, holds your drink AWAY AND SECURE so you do not have to worry AND has a scrap trash can! How very creative and genius!

Oh and let's sweeten the Deal CHECK THIS OUT: Enter this code when you place your order to get $100 off your shipping: 100Writes

Lets talk about the WORKBOX!

Old School Layout

The Crafting Pot challenged us to go old School HERE; no fancy gadget or gizmo's. I have to admit this was HARD for me since I never really "scrapped old school" before. Most of the things they were showing I had never seen LOL! I guess it is has to do with being a "new" scrapper (only a few years) and a younger scrapper. I don't know. Here is my take. I don't like it but it is done LOL. I drew and colored the corners with markers, then dotted for extra something something. Thickers for the title (sorry didn't have stickers), tore the journal lines and the red bottom. I did use a circle punch for the circles on the bottom and they are supposed to be random but I am not so good at that either LOL. So there you go I tried!

Another triple duty

This layout is for Creative Twist challenge (Lets get down and dirty) HERE; for Scrapbooks and Stuff (use a sketch and pink) HERE and for Practical Scrappers (I won the doodling template from them!) Lots of distressing, inking, and painting (with the template) on this one. I LIGHTLY used the sketch, I had too many pictures. I took over 100 pictures this afternoon since my "doesn't like to get her hands dirty daughter" was the first one in the mud pit and the last one to leave! I was amazed! She had so much fun! I used the negative shape (Storybook fit to page marquee one) for the left side and the positive on the right side. I did not do many embellishments but I wanted this to look dirty. What do you think?

Quadruple duty for the blog hop

This card is doing QUADRUPLE duty! It is based on the sketch from Peachy Keen Stamps blog HERE; uses a die cut (the plain and scalloped circles are cut using Nesties) from Practical Scrappers HERE; and an altered die cut (the ribbon slide is a cuttlebug die EMBOSSED with the Autumn Pumpkin embossing folder, stamped on and covered in glittery chalk) for Just Buggin HERE. It is also serving for SCRAPFIT Happy Fall card HERE WHEW! I think I like this, I wish the owl and hoot were clearer and in real life the flowers are flat but I am trying to get back into the card making business. Thanks for looking!

"Sweet" Chirper Challenge

This card is for the challenge on the Chirper Challenge Blog HERE. I used Sweethearts for the purple ribbon cut and covered it in glitter. A sentiment stamp and a flourish and there you go sweet and easy!

Week four of the Cricut Cartridge giveaway

I was SO enabled to want this cart! I hope to win one but if not it is on my Christmas list. The font is fab!

Sew Many Cards Challenge

Last one for tonight. I am NOT a person that colors images well. So with that said please forgive me. The inside has a stamped sentiment that states, " When Life throws you a curve ball SWING". This card is for a dear friend of mine who is battling cancer right now. HUGS!

SPCC Challenge

I made this quick card for this challenge. I hope you like it. YES I used stamps again woohoo! I am not so sure of the rickrack but it looked too blah before. I am NOT a card maker, I USED to be but not anymore so I am rusty. Please forgive me for that.

Treat Bags

More for the blog hop! WOOHOO! I made two of these for this challenge on WSB. Mine are not Halloween but I needed these for friends that need a pick me up right now. I used Sweethearts cart Cartouche cut at 4 and 4.25 inches. I also used the Cuttlebug butterfly cut and emboss for the butterflies, swiss dots on one, and a polka dot folder on the other. I used stamps (my personal challenge for 30 days woohoo). Pretty simple and to the point! Please excuse the horrible lightening, it is dark and gloomy here and nighttime LOL!

Layout 224-All about me challenge

This is my first layout WITHOUT pictures. It was fun actually. I hardly ever scrap me so this was fun. I cannot write in a straight line to save my life. LOL! The challenge was: WHAT COLOR ARE YOU? I scraplifted from the Guest Designer HERE.
I loved the simple lines and blocks of paper that she had. I used her page as a jump for my page.
Here is a LINK to the challenge. I sure hope you join us on the blog hop and the challenge. I will be sure to keep an eye on this blog!

Layout 223 and a card

The card is for my in laws. They celebrate THIRTY YEARS OF MARRIAGE tomorrow (Monday) I hope they like it. I was trying to go elegant and NOT girlie at all!

The layout is for a personal challenge to myself to USE SOME OF MY STAMPS! I saw Scenic Route paper that had various designs on Kraft Card stock and figured that I could recreate it with my stamps. I really do LOVE Kraft Card stock as a base, it goes with anything and really grounds the pictures. I stamped the border with Stazon Timber Brown and then filled in some of the tiny circles with pink pen. A pre-made journal card by Jenni Bowlin, mounted on some pattern paper; various primas and Kaisercraft pearls and that is it. Nothing really fancy, trying to get some mojo going!

Scrap Sketch BLOG HOP special sketch!

I was so honored and happy when Stephanie from scrapsketch asked me to do the special layout for this MASSIVE and AMAZING blog hop she is hosting for a WHOLE WEEK! It starts today and goes through OCTOBER 1st. Be prepared to be amazed, challenged and possibly rewarded!! Head on over to ScrapSketch to start having some FUN!

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with!! I even used my Cricut for it! (that is rare these days!) All the papers are from the Making Memories Choloe's Closet collection. Butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch with crackle accents. Doodling was done with a Crafter's Workshop template and American Crafts white pen. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the top of the journaling box and an EK Success for the bottom. "Photo Shoot" is from Don Juan at 3/4 inch and the camera is from Going Places cut at 3 1/4 inch. What do you think?

Layout 221 "Love"-Practical Scrappers challenge

I did this layout for the Practical Scrappers challenge located HERE. The title, corner, and scalloped border are all felt. I could not get it to stick so I added my new favorite thing: STAPLES! LOL! I also put Crystal Effects on ALL the strawberries. I used the CTMH book "Cherish" for the overall idea on the layout, with the various patterned papers. What do you think?

Water Works

First, let me apologize for the light, it is cloudy here. Jon helped me with this one by putting all the "droplets" everywhere (they are raindots!) What do you think?

Various layouts (212-217)

These are number 212-217 for this year. I am TRYING to get my groove back. I hate the one where I have the certificate on it but I needed another page (her first hair cut was four pages long!) so this was a good to put in there. I wish I would have done the journaling on the back like I did with "wonder".

My new Crafting Space!

My dear loving and amazing husband set this all up for me, he fixed the counters, drilled some holes for cords. I organized, labeled and set up the various "stations". I also reorganized the shelves. I am ready to craft LOL! The only thing I need is a cup holder to fasten the side and a new chair but I can wait! I am so excited! From left to right, I have my cricut and cuttlebug station (close to the laptop) in case I learn Design Studio (Hahah!). Then in the middle is my work area with my WONDERFUL Sweet Nothings spinner organizer (THANK YOU BDAY GIRLS!). Then there is the cutting station and the card making/brainstorming area. I have my paper holder to the far right and then in the cabinet are the alter ables and more. Hope you like it!

The start of my newly redone space!

The second day we were here, Jon drove me out to the next town to get some counters that we found on Craigslist. They were 8 feet long EACH and fairly new for 25.00! So after some off roading and wrong turns we scored the counters and brought them home to the garage. Now we were on the hunt for cabinets. Our budget was pretty limited and we were not having luck in the clearance at Home Depot, Lowes or on Craigslist (we had been looking for awhile before we moved also). We also did NOT want to mount them to the walls since this is only a rental. So we figured out that we could get jetmax aka Simply Built storage from Michaels and stack them two high and it would be the perfect height for me. So that is what we did over the weekend, we went to Michaels, bought six of the jetmax (three 3 drawer ones, and three 4 drawer ones) and Jon put them all together on Sunday night. Monday was a rough day for us so we didn't get things together. We did it last night though! HOWEVER we have some more work to do since the lip of the counters prevents me from using the two two drawers of the four drawer ones that are on top. I also think I need two more to support in the middle of the longer piece. The space measures 81 inches by 92 inches WOOOOHOOO! I am so excited! It is NOT done yet, but what do you think so far????

Cricut Celebration Month week TWO!!!

WOOHOO! Another week and another chance, or twenty to win a Winter Woodland cartridge. This cartridge seems very cute and has those 3D houses on it! Go check it out:

Scrap Sketch #157 (my first submission!)

I love scrap sketch sketches. This one was amazing. I love love love these pictures. I used I think Doodlecharms for the four apples and George or GS for the circle. Thickers inked up with Tim Holtz ink for the title. Various apple patter paper and some journaling strips. I also used Glossy Accents on the apples, they really shine in real life.

Make sure to jump on over to : http://www.scrapsketch.com/ to see more wonderful creations!

Just a note

I know I have not posted much and there is a reason for that. I have not done much. I am adjusting to life in a new state, a new schedule for munchkin and I and just have no desire to create. I know it is horrible and I apologize BUT hubby bought me some jetmax cubes yesterday to go with the counters we scored a while back off of craigslist and we are going to be expanding my workspace to almost DOUBLE what it is so I don't feel like I am squished in the corner. I hope that helps. Will keep you all posted!

Living room vinyl

Scrapalette on the cricut messageboard was kind enough to weld all this together for me when I was about to lose my mind! Jon was nice enough to hang it up for me. We used painters tape to pick the letters directly up from the mat and keep them straight to put on the wall. Much easier than doing them individually! LOL! It says "No matter what No matter where If love is there its always home" Thought it was pretty fitting!

The 100th cartridge is the Winter Woodland cart! So cute from what I hear! Check it out here:http://www.cricut.com/shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?id=361&s=1&sc=2

First YES I know it is crooked and Second I don't care right now! LOL! I don't like working with vinyl as much as paper. I much prefer paper to vinyl for its rigidity and stability! Here is what I came up with for the kitchen wall. I have the living room and our bedroom to go but another day!

I used Opposites attract for "the" and "of". Kitchen, IS and Home are welded from Lyrical Letters on Jumbo setting. The big heart is from George. The heart and house are from Don Juan. What do you think?

Mickey Mouse for the Princess

The blank wall before we decorated!

here it is all dressed up!

Closeup of Mickey. His shoes and face are paper the rest is vinyl.

Her dress and face are paper the rest is vinyl.

ScrapSketch Friday Challenge

Since I am not due to design these yet, I wanted to participate anyways!

Here is the link to the sketch: http://www.scrapsketch.com/2009/09/friday-scrapsketch-challenge.html

And here is my version! I love love love these pictures of Caitlyn. She is only 16 months or so but looks like she is three! She definitely is posing but she is simply a cutie pie! Look at those eyes! I used green pearlescent paper for the background, then three patterned papers from a new stack I got on CLEARANCE for 3.00! WOOHOO! Two ribbons, a prima flower dyed using Tim Holtz peeled paint distress ink, thickers for the title, and some random hearts and flowers, a label maker for the main journaling and two Tim Holtz/making memories tickets. There you go. What do you think?
